Scrapbook, 1893-1899.

Consists of all manner of items that document this young Philadelphian's social life. Throughout the album, Miss Abbot includes letters (in their envelopes) from friends; invitations to social events (and her comments on how they went); programs and playbills from concerts, operas and plays she attended; snapshots (including cyanotypes and other processes); pencil sketches (some caricatures, some interiors of homes, some of people); pressed flowers; and various other ephemera (such as a 22 caliber shell casing to remember "shooting from the rocks" at Kennebunkport, ME; tickets from an 1895 football game between Cornell and the University of Pennsylvania; a map of Lake Sunapee, NH; or a flat pebble from the U. S. Naval Training Station, Newport, RI). The early pages include quite a number of items from the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago.
